Buddhist prayer beads, also known as Buddhist rosary, mala or japa mala, help the spiritual people in keeping a track of time during medication or prayers. These prayer beads are used by spiritual people to count petitions to the Universe, and remind the believers of both the levels of enlightenment. They are similar to other prayer beads used in various other world religions. The Buddhist mala has 108 beads, as per the Tibetan Buddhist Alter, and include one large bead known as mother bead or guru bead. When the faithful use the beads, they recite different mantras or meditations.
Mantras to Overcome Fear
Typically, mantras to overcome fear are recited with beads made of wood. The suitable form of wood includes rose, peach, saffron and elm.
Mantras to Tame by Forceful Means
To tame by forceful means signifies subduing harmful energies, like general afflictions or extremely malicious spirits. This mantra should only be tried by those people who are experienced in Buddhist philosophy and are motivated by great compassion for all being. Mala for these mantras are made from rudraksha seeds or even human bones with 60 Buddhist prayer beads on a string.
Appeasing Mantras
By reciting the mantras, the body and mind is cleared from health-related obstacles. Appeasing mantras involve using white-colored Buddhist prayer beads, made up of crystal or pearl.
Increasing Mantras
The purpose of reciting increasing mantras is to bestow the reciters with long life and knowledge. The increasing mantras mala is made up of lotus seed beads, copper, silver or gold beads.
Other Mantras
Other mantras can be recited for protection, power, a spouse or wealth. The main motive of mantras is purifying mind, body and soul by forgiving the sins of spiritual and faithful reciters.
